Activism at the D.C. Office

In May, National Review Online (NRO) posted Ed Hudgins's review of the recent film The Shape of Things. NRO is one of the most influential and frequently visited sites on the Internet.

Hudgins challenged the negative reviews of the movie. "Moral principles are at the heart of life and art," he wrote. "Choosing the right ones leads to happiness and beauty. Choosing the wrong ones leads to misery and ugliness—spiritual ugliness most of all. In his thoughtful film, The Shape of Things, writer/director Neil LaBute demonstrates these truths masterfully through the choices and fates of his characters."

Those who wish to read the complete review will find it on the TOC Web site.

On other fronts:

  • Hudgins was interviewed on WAMU, a National Public Radio station in Washington, D.C., about tax policy in Maryland. (Hudgins is also on the board of the Maryland Taxpayers Association.)
  • He was a guest on NPR's "Science Friday" with Ira Flatow to discuss space policy issues.
  • He took the affirmative side in a Congressional Quarterly point/counter-point debate, "Should the private sector be the driving force behind U.S. manned space flight in the near future?"
